“Stevens challenges students who already have a burning passion for problem-solving, pursuing knowledge, and self-improvement. I flourished within an environment that tested my skills and personal determination while simultaneously providing me with the tools and support necessary to succeed. The intimidating engineering curriculum I once felt anxious about, I now celebrate because the level of difficulty drove me to persevere and prepared me for a demanding career post-graduation.
During my first year at Stevens, I was fortunate enough to become a member of the Greek community and a sister of the Phi Sigma Sigma sorority on campus. This really allowed me to contribute to something greater than myself, fulfill my social responsibility, and strengthen my interpersonal skills through various fundraising events and volunteer activities. Phi Sig honestly ended up being my escape outside the classroom, the place that fostered tremendous personal growth and let me impact my community by giving back in simple but meaningful ways.
In the summer I will start up my job as an electrical contact engineer supporting facilities for ExxonMobil down in Houston, Texas. I was born and raised in New Jersey, so this move down south is what I am most excited about as it gives me an opportunity to start fresh and tap into a place full of new people and ideas. I can’t wait to jump into the energy industry and start doing my part to power this beautiful and expanding world.”
