“I applied to Stevens because I felt it would prepare me best for my career. I was confident the co-op program would help me develop the skills to become a professional, and through my five co-op experiences, I was proven correct.
“Outside of class, I have been president of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, president of Lambda Upsilon Lambda, and a member of Gear & Triangle and the Student Government Association. Being involved in these organizations supplemented the technical skills I was gaining in the classroom with interpersonal skills. I was able to sharpen my communication and time management skills while giving back to my community, and I learned how to be a leader and to motivate others.
“After graduation, I will begin my career at Ernst & Young in Hoboken as a Technology Advisory Program (TAP) consultant. I plan on becoming a senior manager at my firm and a leader in my industry, serving as a mentor for young professionals. I also wish to develop my own endowed fund to provide future Stevens students with the financial resources they need to complete their education. If it were not for the generosity of Mr. Art Harper and his wife Linda, I would not have been able to become as involved on campus and grow as a professional. Now I want to inspire more students to give back.”
