“Being an engineering student at Stevens showed me how to believe in myself. We are challenged every day in our classes, and it is necessary to become both driven and independent in order to succeed. I have learned over the past four years to have trust in my abilities, even when a task seems daunting. Whether it is an exam I must study for, or a task at my internship that I must complete, I have learned that as long as I devote my full attention and ample time, I can be successful.
Thanks to the American Bureau of Shipping Scholarship, I could worry less about my tuition and instead participate on the volleyball team and the Phi Sigma Sigma sorority. Aside from giving me fantastic, fun and intelligent friends, these two extracurricular activities taught me about the impact of one's actions – that you can be an inspiration and a leader through work ethic and enthusiasm, all while being yourself.
I am returning to Stevens for my +1 year for a master’s degree in computer science, and this summer I am returning to work on my third contract with Northrop Grumman, where I will serve as a vehicle engineering technical intern. I am not exactly sure yet which field I will land in permanently, but I aspire to have a career in which I can employ my creative mindset while also doing impactful things.”
