After graduating, Daniela will be one of the latest students to go from the growing Stevens School of Business to the world of high-tech finance. “I didn’t want to attend a traditional business school. I wanted both a technology focus and a business focus, and the Quantitative Finance program at Stevens did just that for me. I would not be where I am without this challenging program.”
In the summer, she’ll start a job as an analyst within the investment banking division of the Royal Bank of Canada, specifically covering communication, media and entertainment companies. “I’m excited to move to the Big Apple. This is a huge move for me, but I have a great feeling about it. I’m excited for all the learning I will be doing, the people I will meet, and most of all, the areas where I know I will find a way to make a difference.”
A recipient of the Class of 1930 Scholarship, Daniela has been president of the Latin American Association, a member of Gear & Triangle, corporate relations officer for the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, an orientation leader, a peer mentor, and even a math tutor for younger students at the Hoboken Charter School. “My scholarship has allowed me to focus my energy on my studies and on giving back to the campus community rather than having to earn money working the same kind of jobs I’ve been doing since I was 14.”
Wherever her career takes her, Daniela will remember how Stevens has shaped her. “Stevens has given me the problem-solving approach to everything I do. Every assignment and task I’ve encountered has in some way helped me. I’ve learned to manage my personal life along with school work and staying involved on campus. Compared to students at other schools, Stevens students always take on more challenges.”
