Impact

The University Center Complex will revitalize Castle Point for the entire Stevens community. With a design that accentuates stunning views of the Manhattan skyline, the university center will become the heart of campus life, while the residential towers will signal the rise of Stevens to millions in the metropolitan region.

Surging Demand

Interest in Stevens is surging, with the number of freshmen applications setting a record for each of the past six years. New housing and a university center full of amenities meet a strategic vision for creating a first-rate campus that attracts talented students.

Transformational

Packed into just 55 acres, Stevens must build smartly. The University Center Complex will make the campus feel and function larger than its boundaries suggest.

University Center

Throughout 70,000 square feet, the university center will benefit students, faculty and alumni in numerous ways.

Student Experience

By creating spaces for student clubs and activities, such as fitness, gaming, dining and more, the university center will provide an enriched collegiate experience.

Event Venues

With versatile event venues, Stevens will be able to showcase its innovation and entrepreneurship to visitors from academia, industry and government, furthering the university’s impact and prestige.

Student Housing

Living on campus will give students a memorable experience and foster stronger ties to their alma mater. The north residence has been named the Harries Residential Tower in honor of Richard Harries ’58, who along with his wife, Carol, has made a most generous bequest for his beloved Stevens.

Campus Connections

With combined room for 1,000, the towers will relocate students from off-campus housing. Living on Castle Point without a commute, students will have more time for academics and extracurricular activities.

Suite Views

Every day, students will wake up to inspiring skyline views – and irresistible settings for them to snap and share countless pics that showcase Castle Point.

Going Green

With a featured plaza, plus several patios and terraces, the university center will create scenic outdoor spaces for events and other socializing.

Eco-Techniques

  • Healthy materials for enhanced indoor environmental quality
  • Stormwater management through green roofs and rain gardens
  • Reduced need for shuttle bus service, further reducing carbon impact
  • Targeting LEED Silver®

Exterior Investment

Leading the way, Karen and Steve Boswell, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, made an early gift to name the university center’s front patio.

Support

The University Center Complex will be the largest, and most expensive, building project in school history. It is the premier capital project of the extended portion of The Power of Stevens campaign, and embodies the priority of creating a vibrant campus.

Monumental Confidence

Donors who support this project are sure about the future of Stevens, and their investment will further inspire alumni and friends who support scholarships, research and other valued programs.

Naming Spaces

Naming gifts empower Stevens to build boldly and honor alumni and friends for their partnership in this historic project. Learn more about transformational naming opportunities.

Groundbreakers

The names of contributing Groundbreakers – donors of $15,000 and greater to the University Center Complex project through June 2021 – will be listed on a prominent donor wall within the university center.
