Class of '57 Indicator Log
(Winter 2015 Submission)

Class Secretary: S.J. "Chuck" Filippone

Fall 2015 — Dave Haid provided this quick update from this fall’s Old Guard Luncheon at Stevens, which saw a fine turn out from the Class of ’57— and the return of a long-lost classmate.

“Charles Falcon, a face and voice from the past, attended. I believe it was his first visit to Stevens since graduation. He left very upset with Stevens’ decision to tear down the Castle and returned only after he read that the video on the Castle’s history was to be shown at the luncheon. It was well done, and I hope we’ll see more of Charles at future events. Dave.” The video on Castle Stevens, written and produced by John Dalton ’60, can be viewed at

Accompanying this log is a photo from the class’s early reunion committee meetings, pre-50th anniversary. Ken DeGraw sent it along, with this note: “Chuck, This is Paul’s call, but maybe it’s time to start hyping our 60th anniversary in 2017. Attached is an undated photo of one of our early reunion committee meetings — before Dom joined us? It was sent to me by Mike McGarry, who was in the Development Office and now with Make-A-Wish Foundation. Can anyone date it? We were younger then. Ken.”

The Class of 1957 will soon be gearing up to mark its 60th Reunion in 2017. Some original planners for the class' successful 50th reunion and still active class members are, from left, Chuck Filippone, Dave Haid, Paul Steffen, Art Stahl, Ken DeGraw, and Herb Kimmich.
