What is the schedule of activities for the weekend?

Does the beer tasting sell out?

This is the 25th Anniversary of the ever-popular Beer Tasting. Due to the overwhelming demand of alumni, we have had to cap this event to the first 125 registrants. Last year, the Beer Tasting sold out prior to Alumni Weekend. We strongly encourage you to register today, if you plan to participate in this exciting annual event.

What should I wear?

Alumni Weekend is a time for you to kickback, relax, and have fun. Many of the activities take place outside, so we recommend wearing casual clothes and comfortable shoes. For those of you attending any of the evening receptions and/or dinners on Friday and Saturday, we recommend business casual attire (collared shirt and sports coat for the gentlemen / cocktail dress or blouse and slacks for the ladies).

Will there be a place for alumni and their guests to change before the Saturday evening reception and dinners?

Yes, from 6:00pm to 7:30pm on Saturday, June 3, alumni will have access to a locker room in the Charles V. Schaefer Athletic Center to change into their evening attire. Stevens cannot provide a place to store your belongings during the day.

What restaurants will be participating in Friday’s Taste of Hoboken event?

We are pleased to welcome Benny Tudino’s, Stacks, Dilli Junction, Flatbread, Margherita’s, and the Old German Bakery to campus during the Taste of Hoboken event taking place on Friday, June 2.

What kind of food will be at the 1870 Alumni BBQ?

Enjoy everything a wide variety of fair-food, including: sausage and peppers, cheesesteaks, chicken tenders, Mediterranean, vegetarian, and so much more. Register today to make sure you receive your all-access wristband – unlimited food and drinks.

Who should I alert if I have a food allergy?

If you have a food allergy, please email alumni@stevens.edu to alert the Alumni Office staff. We will do all we can to assist you.

I am arriving early on Friday, will there be lunch options?

Yes, we are pleased to announce that Pierce Dining Hall (located on the 2nd floor of the Howe Center) will be open for lunch on Friday, June 2. The new Pierce Café (also on the 2nd floor of the Howe Center) will be open, too.

How can I learn more about the OnStage at Stevens performance by NJSO: When Classical Music Meets Jazz?

Versatile NJSO musicians collaborate with New Jersey’s best jazz musicians to present music that combines classical music and jazz. The evening will feature such jazz greats as Rufus Reid, Sara Caswell and Charles Pillow alongside NJSO favorites Bart Feller, Chris Komer and many more! Did you know you can swing to Strauss’ music? We are going to show you how!!

Tickets to the performance are on sale now. This concert has assigned seats, which can be selected during the purchase process. Available seat locations vary according to ticket price. For optimal seat selection experience, we recommend purchasing tickets from a desktop or laptop computer. Tickets can be printed at home or left at the will call window to be picked up the night of the concert.

Tickets are $50, $25, and $15. $50 tickets include a post-show reception with the musicians.

Will there be activities for children?

On Saturday afternoon during the 1870 Alumni BBQ there will be a bounce house, lawn games, and the annual Future Ducks Lollipop Run.

How can I receive the most up to date information regarding Alumni Weekend?

To keep all alumni and guests informed, we will be texting out alerts throughout the weekend. To sign up for the texting alerts, text “SIT/AlumniWeekend” to 56512.

     

CLASS AND AFFINITY REUNION ACTIVITIES

Which alumni affinity groups will be hosting reunions?

The following affinity groups will be hosting reunion actives on Saturday, June 3, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm: WCPR, STEP, The Stute, Stevens Dramatic Society Alumni Club, Alpha Phi Omega, Chi Psi, Delta Phi Epsilon, Phi Sigma Sigma, Sigma Phi Epsilon, Chi Phi, Delta Tau Delta, Theta Xi, and Sigma Nu. (Don’t see your affinity group? Contact the Alumni Office to coordinate an activity – alumni@stevens.edu).

We are pleased to announce that there will be a Club Expo during the Alumni BBQ. This is a great opportunity to learn about the many clubs and affinity groups hosted by the Stevens Alumni Association.

Can I make a gift to honor my time at Stevens?

Are there activities for those not celebrating a milestone reunion?

Yes! Alumni Weekend is open to all alumni of Stevens and their guests. Join us for the Alumni BBQ, the All Alumni Reception, the dinners on Saturday evening, or for any of the other activities hosted throughout the weekend.

     

ACCOMMODATIONS / PARKING / TRANSPORTATION

May I stay on campus?

The dorm that alumni have historically stayed in, Jonas Hall, is closed for renovations from May 2017 through August 2017. Unlike Jonas, Humphreys Hall does not have rooms with private bathrooms and is not ADA accessible. Guests staying in Humphreys, please keep in mind that you will be sharing a common bathroom: one for male guests and one for female guests. The cost is $100 for a single room / $125 for a double room.

How do I register to stay on campus?

Complete the registration form online. Please note, the on campus options are listed at the end of the online registration page; or contact Elissa Guss at 201-216-3388 or eguss@stevens.edu.

Are there off-campus accommodations?

Yes, guests may stay at the Sheraton Lincoln Harbor Hotel (1.7 miles from campus), located at 500 Harbor Boulevard, Weehawken, NJ. *Shuttle service will be available between the Sheraton and Stevens.

Where should I park?

Campus parking will be first-come, first-served. Guests attending Alumni Weekend are invited to park in the following lots: 8th Street, Howe Center, Ruesterholz Admissions Center, 6th Street, and Riverside. The Babbio Center garage will be closed for Alumni Weekend, as construction will have begun to complete the project. 

Guests will not need parking passes during the day, though overnight guests will be required to pick up their parking pass.

Will there be shuttle service?

Shuttle service will be provided from the Sheraton Lincoln Harbor in Weehawken to the Howe Center. There also will be a shuttle from Hoboken Terminal to the Howe Center. This shuttle will also make stops at the Riverside lot. View a detailed shuttle schedule.

Will there be transportation around campus?

Golf carts will be readily available to provide transportation between major events on campus for those who have difficulty with mobility. Additionally, there will be shuttle service from the Babbio Center to the Howe Center immediately following the All Alumni Reception and prior to the Alumni Dinner Dance.

How do I register?

Registration is primarily being done online, though, should you wish to receive a paper registration or register over the phone please call 201-216-5163.

May I register when I arrive?

Yes! The Alumni Office will be accepting registrations throughout Alumni Weekend. Make sure to stop by the registration area on the 2nd floor of the Howe Center to sign up and receive information about the weekend.

Can I change my registration?

Of course! To make a change to your registration, either email alumni@stevens.edu or call 201-216-5163.

Is there a refund policy?

The deadline to receive a refund for your registration is five (5) business days before Alumni Weekend – Friday, May 26. Registration cancellations received prior to the deadline are eligible to receive a full refund without the service fee.
