Hall of Fame Inductees

  Alina Duran ’14
 

A member of the Class of 2014, Alina Duran concluded her career as the record holder in both the hammer throw and weight throw events. She was the program’s first indoor track and field All-American after finishing eighth in the weight throw at the 2013 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships. She also qualified for the 2012 Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the hammer. Duran was undefeated in Empire 8 competition in the shot put and captured individual championships in the hammer (2011) and weight throw (2012, 2013). The West New York, New Jersey native, who returned to the program as a coach in 2019, remains active in competition, consistently ranking in the top-100 in the word in the hammer throw.

     
  Bob Walker ’58
 

A member of the Class of 1958, Bob Walker was a two-sport athlete, competing in both basketball and soccer. On the court, Bob was a 500-point scorer for a team that won 34 games over four seasons (when the team was playing only 13-game seasons). Walker played every minute of every game over those four seasons and led the team in rebounding during both his junior and senior seasons. On the pitch, Walker was the starting goalkeeper for each of his three seasons and received honorable mention All-Middle Atlantic States Conference honors in 1957. He was the Gear and Triangle Award winner as the best male athlete in his senior class, and he served as Student Council president.

     
  Emily (Woo) Waters ’09
 

A member of the Class of 2009, Emily (Woo) Waters concluded her swimming career ranked first in program history in eight different events: the 100-yard backstroke, the 100-yard butterfly, the 200-yard individual medley, the 200-yard medley relay, the 400-yard medley relay, the 200-yard freestyle relay, the 400-yard freestyle relay and the 800-yard freestyle relay. The Lodi, California native still ranks among the top-10 in four different events. Waters was an All-American in the 2009 freestyle medley and earned four honorable mention All-America accolades at the 2009 NCAA Championships. A two-time Skyline Conference Co-Swimmer of the Championship meet, Waters was part of Stevens’ first NCAA-qualifying relay team.

     
  George Serafin ’87
 

A member of the Class of 1987, George Serafin finished his career ranked third in goals and fifth in points for the longest-running lacrosse program in the country. Currently, Serafin ranks eighth in career goals per game. He received All-Knickerbocker Conference recognition in each of his four seasons, earning an honorable mention during his freshman and sophomore seasons, first team honors as a junior and a second team selection during his final season. Serafin was a team captain in his final season, president of the Athletic Association in 1987 and an active member of the Student Council.

     
  Hillary Paul ’10
 

A member of the Class of 2010, Hillary Paul was a three-sport athlete during her time at Castle Point, competing in field hockey, track and field and soccer. At the time of her graduation, she was first in field hockey program history in goals, assists, points and points per game. Paul is one of just seven players in program history to average more than a point per game. Paul was a part of the indoor track and field 4x400-meter relay team, whose time of 4:08.62 still stands as a record.

     
  Sheldon Jones ’13
 

A member of the Class of 2013, Sheldon Jones was a gifted scorer on the hardwood, holding three of the top-10 totals for points in a season. His 1,584 career points rank second in program history, while his 16 points per game career average ranks eighth. A threat from both the field and the foul line, the Queens, New York native is tenth in career field-goal percentage and seventh in free throw percentage. A three-time All-Empire 8 Conference selection, Jones was a First Team All-East District selection in 2013 by the National Association of Basketball Coaches and a Second Team All-Region selection by D3Hoops.com, while also earning the Empire 8’s Player of the Year Award. Jones was also the third player in program history to receive back-to-back All-Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association honors in 2012 and 2013.
