We are excited to announce a $50,000 commitment from a donor to support women’s programming at the Lore-El Center! The Lore-El Center is a beautiful, 4,500 square foot Victorian house on Castle Point Terrace, near fraternity and sorority housing, that has become the hub on campus for women’s programming. Named in 1999 after Lore E. Feiler, an entrepreneur industrialist who audited courses at Stevens during the 1940s and later became a generous donor, Lore-El provides a unique living and learning experience for undergraduate women at Stevens. It is a residence hall for a small group of female students, and it serves the entire university by hosting guest lectures, seminars, and workshops of particular relevance to women.

For a university that first went co-ed in 1971, Stevens has worked hard over the past five decades to make sure women who are interested in STEM careers can come to Castle Point and reach their potential. The Celebration of Women in Leadership at Stevens will recognize the women who have made that effort possible, and who will continue to inspire women on campus and beyond.
